Week 9: Podcasts and Audio

This is a great way to let customers listen to an author who has visited the library,It would also be a great way of doing courses, as you could listen to the person explaining what they require you to do. It would be easier than trying to read what is required.

Universities use this system for their students to complete their work.

Answer boards and social searching

Yes I think there would be a role for libraries in slamming the boards
This would be a great way of sourcing information to customers, living outside town and even in town. Customers would rate this highly, as children have a bad habbit of wanting information at the last minute

Possibilities for YouTube

This would work very well for libraries when we have an author talk about their book for people who cannot attend the library.

It would be also very handy when we have competitions going and the public can view what has been submitted.

And any other event that may take place.

wiki

I found it very interesting that you can edit anything that is put onto a wiki post and you can add more things should you need to.
I think a Book Lovers wiki would be very helpful
and Perhaps Wikia entertainment.
I also think a Wiki would be handy in keeping in touch with other people in the business without sending emails.

Create a blog post about your findings. What did you find interesting? What types of applications within libraries might work well with a wiki?

Rss feeds

I like the idea of Rss and Newsreaders as a good source of information.
I chose the following sites for RSS reader
ABS for Librarians.
Librarybytes
ABC News
I think this would be a great form of technology to be able to let clients know what is out there and to receive information from other areas around the world.
Libraries can use RSS to promote what is happening in their area, and what new resources they have available.
Yes I found a couple of good examples of library blogs.
I like the Blogs from Helene Blowers regarding Public Libraries in the future, and the one about e-books. It lets you know what is happening out there.

flickr

I have chosen a picture Of Wee Waa instead of using a photo that was already in Flickr due to copyright laws . I have enclosed the link belowwww.flickr.com/photos/41067405@N04/?saved=1

This would be a good way of sharing photos with family and friends all around the world
